Conclusion

...we'd go as far as to say the new cooling range is one of Corsair's most promising product releases in years.

The Scan 3XS Vengeance Hydro X RGB is one of the first enthusiast base units to fully embrace Corsair's eagerly-anticipated Hydro X cooling series.

Built to showcase a full loop, the rig overclocks both a Core i9-9900K and RTX 2080 Ti, then wraps the duo in XC7 and XG7 waterblocks attached to dual radiators and a reservoir/pump via eye-catching tubing. The end result delivers fast, consistent performance while keeping temperatures in check, and Corsair's integration of iCue RGB lighting makes everything sing.

We've seen enough to suggest that Hydro X will prove popular among system integrators and end-users alike, and we'd go as far as to say the new cooling range is one of Corsair's most promising product releases in years. Working with a handful of well-known brands has ensured a good level of overall quality, and being able to source each part from a single vendor makes custom loops easier than ever before.

Scan's interpretation is fast, easy on the eye and attractive to anyone willing to fork out the best part of four grand on a base unit, but with next-generation AMD processors waiting just around the corner, our recommendation would be to hold fire and wait to see what 3rd Gen Ryzen has in store before taking the plunge.

I don't care what anyone says….putting water in your PC will eventually end in tears.

Agreed. Not for me, especially since air cooling has improved.
