Conclusion

The reviewed Corsair Vengeance Pro memory is well-built, looks stylish and works just as advertised; it is at least as good as other similar modules we've tested in the past.

Through the course of investigation into faster memory for an Intel Haswell-based platform, specifically when replacing DDR3-1,600 memory with some Corsair Vengeance Pro 1,866MHz C9, we have determined that there's a small, consistent gain in benchmark scores.

Modern processors have become so efficient at managing on-chip cache that significant improvements emanating from faster system memory are simply not possible on mainstream applications, and, in our estimation, it would take expensive 2,400MHz-rated RAM and memory-starved programs to show anything approaching a visually perceptible difference in performance.

It is against these performance-inhibiting impediments that the newest modules have to battle against. The reviewed Corsair Vengeance Pro memory is well-built, looks stylish and works just as advertised; it is at least as good as other similar modules we've tested in the past. Costing the same as regular Vengeance, we believe it is certainly worth considering if you can pick it up at a small premium over generic memory.

The Good

Well-built, looks good
Available in a wide range of capacities and speeds
Lots of colour schemes to choose from
No price premium over regular Vengeance modules

The Bad

1.866MHz kit shows small gains over generic 1,600MHz RAM

RAM has been stagnant for so long now, I think most enthusiasts are chomping at the bit for DDR4.
Ohh… Just bought the 1866 kit in red. Thing is i was going to go for 1600 but scan didn't have any. Oh well! want much more for the 1866!
Just way too expensive for what it is, you can get better kits for Ā£30 less.
No price premium over normal Vengance - even you acknowledge that in the Testing page - They are more expensive.
What M/B is that in image on “Conclusion” page?
