...the 16GB dual-channel pack of DDR4-3600 memory is ultimately compromised by a strangely-designed heatspreader...
Increased competition is always a good thing as it pressages innovation and keeps pricing in check. Where we don't usually see it is with respect to system memory, often thought of as a risky segment of the PC market to exploit due to the vagaries of supply and, usually, the stringent economies of scale required to turn a profit.
Whilst that is true of mainstream memory, the enthusiast space, relatively low in volume but high in asking price, does represent opportunity for the savvy company. Inno3D takes a gamble on RGB memory with its iChiLL line.
Offering a decent amount of colour and, on the review sample, the presence of Samsung B-Die chips, the 16GB dual-channel pack of DDR4-3600 memory is ultimately compromised by a strangely-designed heatspreader, a lack of cross-vendor RGB support and limited availability.
Bottom line: a reasonable first attempt that will find it difficult to gain a foothold in a well-established enthusiast market.
