Conclusion

...the 16GB dual-channel pack of DDR4-3600 memory is ultimately compromised by a strangely-designed heatspreader...

Increased competition is always a good thing as it pressages innovation and keeps pricing in check. Where we don't usually see it is with respect to system memory, often thought of as a risky segment of the PC market to exploit due to the vagaries of supply and, usually, the stringent economies of scale required to turn a profit.

Whilst that is true of mainstream memory, the enthusiast space, relatively low in volume but high in asking price, does represent opportunity for the savvy company. Inno3D takes a gamble on RGB memory with its iChiLL line.

Offering a decent amount of colour and, on the review sample, the presence of Samsung B-Die chips, the 16GB dual-channel pack of DDR4-3600 memory is ultimately compromised by a strangely-designed heatspreader, a lack of cross-vendor RGB support and limited availability.

Bottom line: a reasonable first attempt that will find it difficult to gain a foothold in a well-established enthusiast market.

The Good

The Bad
Decent build quality
Bright LEDs

Heatspreader design not great
Lack of availability
Limited config support

Why is 3600-cl17 memory being benchmarked against 3200 and 2667 memory? Shirley it would be more appropriate to benchmark against other 3600 memory (cl16-17?)? :S
The way the market is today, if Inno3D pack in enough coloured lights, success is guaranteed.

Thanks for review……….., just one request; DONT you think its time to have a Ryzen test-bed along side the Intel - test-bed; since to be fair…

Your review tells me rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish-ALL, about wether these sticks will be good for my X370/R5 2600!!!!

I love this site; along with many others…., satifys my desire for information and knowledge mostly all the time ( naturally biased towards AMD ), i'm a GEEK for rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishs-sake, yet can i find a comprehensive review which takes account of the duality in underlying architectures….. NO.#

Really, really getting sick with the Media's Intel/Nvidia ares-licking going on.

I appreciate that these reviews take time, and essentially doing two reviews DOUBLES the time required; which im sure does not sit well with the editor???

Please dude, Intel test bed… good! No Ryzen test bed, arse-lickers!!!!
Mods….. im assuming the reality my last comment potrayed has hurt someones feelings, so not shown………

Come on boys…, whats the problem?
