Thoughts

The V6-V is good, if you can stomach the screen. I despise it due to its reflective nature, which makes exploiting the rest of the spec a tedious chore unless lighting conditions are perfect. Pentium-M at 2GHz, lots of memory, good size screen and 3D chip to drive it, fat HDD and DVD burner all go to waste for me, because of that. They seemingly do a version without the added glare (and hilariously it's advertised as that on the side of the box), which I'd insist you seek out.

The basic ergonomics are sound, it's good looking, and battery life is more than acceptable for road-warrior use. I never found myself swearing at it for losing charge too quickly, with good chunks of work doable before the battery ran out.

In short, a fine piece of kit, bar the screen. At over Ā£1500 as tested from a bunch of retailers, it represents average value for money for a thin and light, so it'll pay to consider other options along with the V6-V at the very least, just to satisfy yourself that it's a good value proposition.

As for the Pakuma bag, I love it. Not much more to say, really, other than go forth and purchase. And that, as they say, is that; My train is pulling in to Newcastle station and I have a bunch of BSG episodes to watch on my change from Newcastle to Sheffield. Ta ta!

That settles it then, I'm gonna get an Akara, but perhaps the K2 instead.
They look quite smart indeed - and not like an obvious laptop bag.

(Why do people make things like that so obvious? Like with Ipods always having obvious white headphones…)
I've got an Akara K2 and i'm not too fond of it. It's a very big bag, too big for my liking although there are some nice features such as the cd holder and some nice useful compartments. It's just too bg to be carrying around all the time though.
Yeah I never understood this craze lately with reflective screens, as though there isn't a reason why laptops have always had matte screens. It's a step in the wrong direction! Seems like a nice enough laptop. The ASUS Z63A looks wicked as long as you're not bothered by a lack of 3D gfx, but doesn't seem to be on the UK website. I think that might have a reflective screen too though. Idiots!
Yeah, the K2 is a bit bigger than the K1 or K3, since it supports 17" notebooks (themselves entirely evil :devilish: ). I'm a big bloke, so I'd be alright with the K2, but the K1 isn't leaving my grasp any time soon.

And yes, the screen on that notebook, like on the PSP, is dreadful.
