Conclusion

...touts an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, GeForce GTX 1070 graphics and a 1080p TN panel supporting tear-free G-Sync gameplay at up to 120Hz.

MSI's long-standing GT72 chassis has been given a new lease of life through refreshed internal components that bring the popular laptop right up to date.

Now dubbed the GT72VR 7RE Dominator Pro, this 17.3in unit touts an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, GeForce GTX 1070 graphics and a 1080p TN panel supporting tear-free G-Sync gameplay at up to 120Hz.

The core ingredients are ideal for high-quality gaming at the native HD resolution, but as is often the case with performance laptops, there are a couple of caveats to be aware of. Battery life is mediocre, display colours are a long way from accurate in their out-the-box state, and the laptop's size and bulk takes some getting used to.

Bottom line: MSI's latest GT72 isn't perfect, but if you're a gamer in the market for a potent desktop replacement, the combination of GTX 1070 and 120Hz G-Sync serves as a genuine attraction at this price point.

Looks like a great all rounder then. I'm going to have to keep a look out for deals on this one.
Two grand and a TN display?
