Conclusion

...there will always be that nagging feeling that future titles or extreme settings may need more.

The key ingredients to producing a decent graphics cards can be distilled down to having an excellent cooler, good looks and formidable build quality.

MSI Gaming X fills those criteria nicely, so it's no surprise to see the company trot out its refined cooling solution on so many graphics cards.

The GeForce GTX 1060 3GB is the recipient of this makover, too. Offering great credentials in every facet, the only question that needs to be answered is whether £225 is too much money for a modern card equipped with 3GB of memory? Though benchmarking well enough at QHD, there will always be that nagging feeling that future titles or extreme settings may need more. And if you're a fan of the red team, there's plenty of choice there, too.

However, undercutting its 6GB counterpart by £75, we come away with the feeling that the MSI Gaming X is a premium card whose strengths lie with the cooling and looks more so than the underlying GPU.

The Good

The Bad

Just get a GTX1060 6GB for the same price. The GTX1060 6GB has more cores too,so it negates the effects of the overclock.
