Final Thoughts and Rating

Spending up to £500 on a graphics card is a significant investment and manufacturers putting forward such extreme propositions need to ensure that they get everything right.

KFA2 has shown in previous GeForce 600-series cards that is has the ability to create a well-rounded package, and the GeForce GTX 680 LTD OC is an impressive addition to the company's range. Shipping with one of the highest clocks we've seen on a GeForce GTX 680, this is a card that offers enough performance to deliver a high-quality gaming experience across multiple displays. Indeed, as we found in our benchmarks, it takes three full-HD displays and a combined 5,760x1,080 resolution to show what the card is truly capable of.

The contrast of black-cooler-on-white-PCB makes the product visually striking, and the three 90mm fans aren't just for appearance's sake; they enable the LTD OC to run relatively cool and quiet under extreme load.

But it isn't quite a home run, as creating the perfect factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 680 is proving to be a challenge for some of the biggest names in the industry. Gigabyte's WindForce OC proved to be a bit on the loud side, ASUS's DirectCU II TOP is big and bulky, and KFA2's made the unusual decision to omit dual-link DVI connectivity.

Bottom line: As far as GeForce GTX 680s are concerned, KFA2's LTD OC is very, very good, but we'd have preferred it with NVIDIA's default selection of outputs.

The Good

Has enough power for NVIDIA Surround gaming
Impressive out-the-box clock speed
Good cooling performance
Unique aesthetics

The Bad

Lacks dual-link DVI
Not a lot of overclocking headroom

Looks good, but as you point out, it's a very odd selection of outputs, and would rule it out for me completely (I'm still running a 1920x1200 24" monitor, and intend to keep those vertical pixels for as long as I can!)
Cool review and all but where's the stats to compare it to a stock 680 ?

EDIT: Ah I see you couldn't do normal tests because of no DL-DVI, maybe would be nice to get the stock 680 to do these tests too ? :D
whats the vram useage in BF3?
Am I the only one who doesn't like the white PCB? I mean if you have a matching white case to go with it then maybe, but, I would have still preferred the good old black PCB.
TBH one of the poorest reviews I've seen for a while, very disappointing.
No mention of the box contents, no comparisons vs other GTX 680's in terms of gaming, temps, noise.

I fail to see why this card was pitted only against a GTX 690, its not like thats its direct competitor, being more than twice the price.
I'm sure people want to see how it fairs against other GTX 680's so they can asses the increase in clock speeds and evaluate the cooler - to see if its worth the £455 price tag.

I have just ordered one of these (to replace my Sapphire 7970 with Accelero Xtreme plus 3, lovely card but sick of AMD drivers, nothing but problems recently since cats 12.4 and above !!!)

Was abit hasty as didn't check reviews closely enough and now see I need x2 8 pin pcie power connectors, and lack of DVI port !!!

Luckily it comes with 2 adaptors, mini hdmi > hdmi & hdmi > dvi and I just ordered a dual 6 pin to 8 pin pcie adaptor £3.99 here

The card comes with x2 dual molex to 8 pin pcie adaptors, which are abit pointless aren't they ? As they don't supply enough power to the 8 pin pcie (120w iirc vs 150w required)
