Overclocking

KFA2's GTX 680 LTD OC is overclocked by 144MHz at the factory, and given the 1,150MHz core frequency, we're not surprised to find that there isn't a great amount of room to manoeuvre.

Try as we might, we couldn't maintain stability with a 1,200MHz core and had to dial the card back down to 1,185MHz for a smooth, artefact-free experience. Our mileage isn't a clear indication of what every GTX 680 LTD OC will do - each card is unique - but our sample is running close to its limit on the core. Though, there is decent headroom on memory; we were able to go from 6,008MHz to an effective 6,800MHz with relative ease.

With the overclock in place, we see an average performance increase of seven per cent in games such as Battlefield 3, DiRT Showdown and Just Cause 2.
