Asus has announced that it has updated the ROG G20CB gaming PC. From now on buyers will be able to specify one of Nvidia's latest and greatest Pascal GPUs; with a choice of either the GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 (both 8GB), with previous generation Nvidia and AMD options still available.
Back in January HEXUS reviewed the Asus Republic of Gamers G20CB, so it's good to see an update to keep it up with the latest GPUs available (only new Nvidia GPUs for now). Our example of the Asus ROG "one-stop gaming and entertainment system" was considered pricy but provided quality 1080p gaming performance in a compact form. The example, as reviewed, was kitted out with a Skylake i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 graphics. In its new press release the tested version of the G20CB is still available to purchase.
To recap the main qualities of the G20CB; it offers a gaming PC in a compact and appealing-to-some chassis. The chassis is a rather bold design with a matte-black finish, Mayan-inspired markings, and customisable RGB LED effects. Other common system specs are as tabulated below:

As was the case during the time of the HEXUS review, users can choose one of two Intel CPUs; the Intel Core i7-6700 up to 4.0GHz, or the Intel Core i5-6400 up to 3.3GHz. As headlined, however, the range of graphics cards users can configure has been expanded with the choice of either the GeForce GTX 1080 or GTX 1070. Other GPU options available are the Nvidia GTX 980 4GB, GTX 970 4GB, GTX 960 2GB, GTX 950 2GB, or the AMD Radeon R9 380 2GB.
Asus refers to the Pascal GPU options as "a monstrous upgrade… for up to three times the gaming power of previous generation cards". For further details of the 3D acceleration capabilities that an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 can bring to a system you only need look through the numerous reviews of these Pascal graphics cards here on HEXUS (follow those links). Now you can get this Pascal graphics power in the Computex Best Choice, Good Design, iF Design and CES Innovation award winning Asus ROG G20CB SFF gaming PC.
Pricing and availability will vary depending upon region, Asus informs us.
