In addition to expanding its VAIO line of notebooks, Sony has today introduced its first ever multi-touch all-in-one PC, the VAIO L series.

The system, pictured below, is designed to take advantage of the multi-touch functionality featured in Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7 operating system.

Launching on October 22nd, the VAIO L features a 24in "widescreen X-black LCD with Multiple Lamp Technology" offering a full-HD resolution.

Initially available in two flavours, the range-topping VPC-L11S1E/S will feature a 3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 processor, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a 500GB HDD, a Blu-ray optical drive and a DVB-T tuner.

Going down a notch, the VPC-L11M1E/S sheds both the Blu-ray drive and TV tuner, and features a 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 processor.

Both systems feature GeForce G210M graphics, Wireless N and Bluetooth connectivity, and there's HDMI input - allowing for the VAIO L to be used as a standalone display. Rounding off the spec is a pair of integrated 5.5W + 5.5W stereo speakers and a built-in webcam.

Very stylish and well-equipped, we reckon, but all-important pricing info has yet to be revealed.

If sony can actually price it reasonably then I reckon they could be onto a winner, all the latest all in one solutions seem to be atom based so the extra horsepower would be great. Icing on the cake would be a TV tuner (and having actually re read the article it does! so looks very promising)
I wonder if it'll be so pre loaded with cr@pware that it can't boot before bluescreening?

If sony can actually price it reasonably…

That would indeed be lovely, but it ain't gonna happen…
If they priced it too low they might decrease sales. Veblen Goods.

I'd like to know two things: what's the display's resolution? What graphics does it use?
is it actually a multi-touch
