Innovation is key, really, and that's what SanDisk brings to the table with its newly-released Cruzer Titanium Plus 4GB drive.
The drive, in the main, is no different to the multitude of others that ply the market. The differentiating factor is how drive-based data is secured.
All data that is copied on to the drive is also duplicated to a password-protected online backup system, such that your data is safe if the drive is lost or stolen.
The online backup is largely invisible to the user, as the application is stored on-key and online transfers are made without user-installed software, assuming a network connection is present.
Speaking to a representative, we were told that the drive has a built-in control that constantly checks that the information is correctly mirrored. A GUI details when online backups are complete, and you can one-touch restore the online contents to your drive.
Costing $59.99 and shipping in a 'crush-resistant' metal case, the Cruzer Titanium Plus' online backup is free for the first six months and then charged at $24.99 p.a. thereafter.
