It's Summer Holiday time for the kids now, which means it's "we need a new computer for the child's educational benefit" for the parents. It's also "I need a decent video card to play FPS all Summer" season.
So, we have increased DRAM prices, partly due to production shifts towards NAND flash storage, then we have increased demand. Add to that the recent typhoon and Taiwanese vendors will start feeling the strain.
The result? Don't expect RAM or graphics card prices to fall any time soon. In fact, we wouldn't be surprised if we saw a rise in prices. It could be a tough old Summer on those wallets.
