Available in either 780 Watt or 900 Watt configurations, the ModXStream Power Supply from OCZ Technology features four +12V rails, aimed at providing even power distribution and sufficient output, according to OCZ Technology, to power demanding GPU and system setups.
The 900 Watt unit, cites OCZ, is equipped to fuel the demands of multi-GPU systems and as is typical of OCZ Technology, the reassurance provided by the Three Year PowerSwap Warranty is also present across the range.
The modular cabling aspect of the announced range is touted as a necessary part of building a cool and orderly system and tying in with this, the units are adorned with OCZ's EZMod technology, allowing users to utilise only the cables required to power their system components, thereby disconnecting those not required by unplugging them from the dedicated sockets on the unit itself.
Whilst the 20/24 pin ATX power cable, one 2/4 pin auxiliary CPU power cable and one (two on 900 Watt unit) PCI Express power cable(s) are built in and hence, do not feature the EZMod technology, two S-ATA power cables (powering six S-ATA devices in total), two (three on 900 Watt unit) peripheral 4 pin power cables (2 + 1 FDD power cable), one PCI Express power cable and one 2/4 pin auxiliary CPU power cable all feature OCZ Technology's EZMod technology and hence, can be connected or disconnected from the unit dependant on the needs of the user.
Also boasting an active PFC to provide more energy efficient and stable power, the OCZ ModXStream features PowerWhisper technology in the form of a low noise, load-controlled 120mm cooling fan and claims an MTBF rate of 100,000 hours at 25C.
