Acer, one of the world's largest PC vendors, has announced its latest creation: the G24 LCD monitor, designed for gamers "looking for flawless high-definition graphics quality and seamless motion."
The monitor, pictured below, features an orange and black colour scheme to match Acer's hardcore Predator system. We're not entirely sure about the design ourselves, but Acer tells us it "endows the G24 with a powerful, warrior-like look, while deeply carved lines on the base of the foot stand convey a rugged military look and feel."
Garish looks aside, the display itself packs an impressive specification. It features a 24in CrystalBrite panel, providing a 1920 x 1200 resolution, and gamers should be more than satisfied with the 2ms response time. Its real party-piece, however, is its 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio - a world's first for a 24in monitor, says Acer.
There's a 176 degree viewing angle, 400 cd/m² brightness and HDMI connectivity. Acer hasn't mentioned which type of LCD panel the G24 utilises, but judging by the £349.99 price tag, we're going to assume its a basic TN panel, though, we're hoping we're wrong.
No official release date has been announced, but with the Predator now on sale, the G24 shouldn't be far behind. Unfortunately, there's no mention of a plain-black model, so, if you're a Predator fan, or just like being Tango'd, this one's for you.
