It was earlier this month that some slides dished up titbits - concerning Intel's 7-series Panther Point chipset - said to be pencilled in for a debut, during 1H 2012.
A fresh slide now claims to dig just a little deeper and share some more information with us - including the naming structure for Intel's consumer 7-series line-up.
To begin with, it looks like the Z77 will be ruling the roost. Naturally including support for Ivy Bridge - as well as Sandy Bridge SKUs - the Z77 will feature Intel's Smart Response Technology (SSD caching) which, is set to debut with the upcoming Z68 chipset, in May. There's also PCIe 3.0 support, and for the Z77, this will be in 1x16, 2x8 or 1x8 + 2x4 configurations.
The Z75 does away with Smart Response Technology, and PCIe 3.0 support here, will equate to either 1x16 or 2x8 configurations. Akin to the Z77, the Z75 will support CPU overclocking. Last up, the H77 will go 1x16 on the PCIe 3.0 angle, is said to feature Smart Response Technology support, yet omit the joys of CPU overclocking.
Across the range, the slide reaffirms integrated USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps connectivity, as well as the usual suspects - such as Intel HD Graphics support, and the inclusion of Rapid Storage Technology 11.
