Whetting the appetite
Engadget's Chinese site got leaked some apparently internal videos of an apparent prototype of the Acer ten inch tablet, as soft-launched a month ago.
There's not a ton to go on from these clips, but they do provide a taste of the kind of functionality we can expect when tablets running the next version of Android - Honeycomb, which promises to be optimised for tablets - hit the market.
This is expected to happen sometime in the first half of next year, and will mark the moment when the first truly credible - with all due respect to the Samsung Galaxy Tab - competitor to the Apple iPad appears and the media tablet market will start to get really interesting.
Incidentally Acer seems to be quite leaky at the moment. A blog that seems to be called Macles has got hold of some images that it claims to be of Acer's forthcoming notebook based around AMD's Ontario fusion platform - the Aspire One 522. There's not much more, but you can read a few extra details and see some images here.
