HEXUS has taken a look at a number of ATI Radeon X1950 Pro cards in the last few months and our advice remains the same; the SKU offers excellent performance for a street price of around £135, depending upon manufacturer.

PowerColor has obviously noticed the popularity of the SKU and, teaming up with Arctic Cooling, is launching a completely passively-cooled card that will retail for just £10 more.

The huge cooler, replete with heatpipes, PowerColor reckons, is able to keep this silent card ticking along at under reference-card load temperatures.

The above shot highlights the four heatpipes in action, and it's the first time we've seen an X1950-series card passively cooled. Expect this model, then, to retail at under £150.

PowerColor has also indicated plans to release a silent X1950 XT version, too, so users looking to play the latest games in an uber-quiet system will do well to put these cards on their shortlist.

We'll endeavour to have the X1950 Pro SKU in for review real soon. Stay tuned!
