NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 480 may have had a rough ride at launch (let's face it, it wasn't helped by the onslaught of Fermi jokes) but the underlying architecture has since proven its worth in more ways than one.

However, while the GTX 500 Series has been hitting many of the right notes, current price cuts have made it an opportune moment to revisit the original GTX 480.

Said card was last week available at a cost of roughly £325. Today, the same powerful GPU can be had for just £195 from Scan.co.uk*, who has slashed a whopping 40 per cent off the asking price.

Heck, it even includes a free game and it's in stock for delivery on Wednesday.

GeForce GTX 480 might be on its way out, but at this price it simply offers an incredible amount of power-for-your-pound. Tempted? Point your browser at Scan.co.uk*.

It's like I've gone back in time several weeks.
The GTX480 has been betweem £195 and £210 for ages on Scan..
Crap, they tell me this 2 months after I got my GTX 570..
tremendous to fold with…. come on over if you haven't already!

To be honest, I bought 2 of these and have been delighted with them since I bought them. They get hot, sure, but when you watercool them the only consideration you need to have is how much power have you got.

Seriously powerful cards that I will not be upgrading for a long time. Very pleased with them, and being a single card, so much easier to fit a waterblock than the original 295GTX that they replaced.

Did I mention great for folding on….. hint hint… 16-19k ppd on one of these when @ 800 Mhz.

Only on deal for the day previously. Now this is a list price reduction on 3 models…. ongoing…

subtle difference, the main point being you don't have to wait till the weekend deal for the day comes along now.
