GeForce brand out in full force
Available as of today, the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB is the graphics card that will "offer an intense gaming experience with stunning special effects and high-definition visuals for the hottest holiday PC games", according to NVIDIA.
Offering 25% more graphics processing power than previous NVIDIA products of the same price point, the 8800 GTS is a 65nm card that features 512MB of buffer memory, dual-link HDCP ports, DirectX 10 support, PureVideo HD technology and no less than 128 stream processors.
Ujesh Desai, general manager of GeForce desktop GPUs at NVIDIA states "If you want the best experience on the PC games coming out right now, then buying a new GPU should be top on your list of upgrades. GeForce 8800 GTS 512 is a fantastic option that we are providing gamers in time for the holiday season. With games such as Crysis and Hellgate: London pushing PC gaming graphics, gamers need a powerful GPU to get the best experience. GeForce 8800 GTS 512 supports DirectX 10, offers killer performance, and does it all for around $299-$349."
The 8800 GTS has the following recommended NVIDIA specifications. Be aware however that most boards manufactured by NVIDIA partners will in fact be clocked higher.
