Lian Li has announced the PC-09 dual compartment chassis. The new PC-09 smartly melds Lian Li's aluminium aesthetic with a toughened glass LED lit showcase half-section. The result is rather eye-catching, and even practical in some ways.

This mid tower chassis is rather large and boxy measuring (W)354mm x (H)482mm x (D)465mm and weighing a substantial 8.6Kg. As headlined, there are two compartments in the design; the opaque aluminium section houses the traditionally less-glam components such as your PSU and modular HDD storage rack, the transparent tempered glass section houses your motherboard and thus (obviously) the CPU and cooler, RAM modules and graphics card(s).

LED lights and so on are popularly integrated into the components in the transparent section and Lian Li augments these with its own LED 'RGB Colour Changing Kit' with waterproof LED strip, cord clip, dimmer and controller (rear control knobs shown above). Overall there's lots of opportunity to light this chassis up like an Xmas tree and/or spotlight your tastiest components.

So what about the nuts and bolts specifications for the Lian-Li PC-09? This ATX/micro-ATX compatible chassis has plenty of room for expansion and decent maximum compatibility measurements for your performance components. Flexible cooling is on offer with five 120mm (filtered) fans included and room for more, plus space for two water cooling radiators. Cool! Be right back - just going to ask the Missus if it's ok for me to spend £350 on a PC case…
Looks interesting, but way overpriced for what it offers.

Rest in peace.

First rule of buying computer kit - never tell the mrs how much it actually costs…
How much?!

Do me a mini-itx version for less than £100 and we'll talk…
£350? If people keep buying these things the price will keep on rising.
