PRESS RELEASE
Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One combines with new ThinkCentre Tiny M53 and M73 to offer new flexible thin client design in an All-In-One chassis
Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) has announced new thin clients, expanding its end-to-end enterprise solutions portfolio with new thin clients. On display this week at VMWorld in Barcelona, the new Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 Tiny and M53 Tiny combined with the ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One will offer customers the freedom of a thin client and monitor setup with the compact benefits of an All-in-One form factor.
"The modular Tiny-in-One provides a modular display solution that supports Lenovo's latest ThinkCentre Tiny desktop PCs to deliver an All-in-One form factor thin client solution," said LiJun Su, executive director, Lenovo Desktop Marketing. "We think this design will completely change the way people buy and use thin client devices for the better."
The recently announced ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One has a 23-inch monitor that includes the best an AiO offers: all the ports needed, optional Optical Disk Drive, customisable stand, and full HD resolution. The clever part is the system's "modular" design that works with Lenovo's latest ThinkCentre Tiny product portfolio. The Tiny M73 and M53 thin clients, which will also be available separately, are attached to the back of the monitor unit through a hassle-free tool-less process allowing for easy and cost effective future upgrades without needing to replace the display.
Thin client solutions offer lower capital investments and can reduce management and maintenance costs. They are highly configurable stateless devices with no moving parts and low power consumption, which boost reliability and can save significant costs when compared to traditional desktops. Security risks are also virtually eliminated as all data resides on the network, not the thin client. The ThinkCentre M73 and M53 solution includes a remote power up option with a supported keyboard and the flexible mounting configurations of the ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One make best use of desk space. The new thin clients also share accessories and power connectors with other "Tiny" desktops ensuring a better return on investment.
Lenovo's ThinkCentre M73 and M53 thin clients offer customers a choice of a flexible Linux-based thin client operating system (LeTOS) or Windows Embedded Standard 7. Developed in collaboration with Devon IT, a worldwide leader of thin client solutions, the products also feature Lenovo Terminal Manager (LTM) software that is effective, secure and easy to use management software helping IT managers to easily create, deploy and manage their virtual desktop infrastructure.
"The ThinkCentre M73 and M53 are ultra small form factor thin clients that add value to our quality desktop products and helps enterprises meet end-to-end IT solutions for desktop virtualisation," said Joe Makoid, President, Devon IT. "The operating system combined with LTM management provides customers with a simplified, consistent way to cost-effectively deploy and use their hosted or virtual desktops.
