ASUS, a leading provider or digital home solutions including award winning Notebooks, Motherboards, LCD Monitors, Mobile Phones and PC Components have a new product in our line up.

The ASUS Asteio D22 enables full multimedia entertainment from one box in your living room. The Asteio D22 DAV (Digital Audio & Video) Centre incorporates Intel Viiv Technology (also featuring Instant On technology) and has full 1080p HD Output.

With the Asteio D22 at home, users can access and share stored movies, music and even cable/digital TV via any internet enabled computing device – want to watch a recorded TV show while you’re on a business trip? Just log on to the internet and download it direct from your D22 at home!

The Asteio D22 also provides an Intelligent EPG (Electronic Program Guide) which enables users to set up TV recording up to 2 weeks in advance. You can even record a whole TV series with one button push. Also, the D22 features a dual-channel Digital TV tuner meaning you can watch one program while you record another, or record two separate programs simultaneously! Also, pause live TV whenever you like and pick up where you left off – no more annoying phone calls during your favourite program.

To make the D22 even easier to use the wireless keyboard & trackpad uses 2.4GHz RF instead of infra-red to ensure no line-of-sight problems!

Internally the Asteio D22 is no slouch with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, a SILENT NVIDIA 7600GS, 1GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, and a 13 in 1 Card Reader.

Behind the front fascia the D22 has 2 USB2.0, 1 IEEE1394 (firewire), 1 eSATA, and microphone and headphone ports.

At the rear there are 4 USB 2.0, 1 IEEE1394, 1 eSATA, 1 RJ45, 7.1 Channel DTS Digital Audio Out, and Optical and Coaxial digital audio outs.

Finally, no media centre would be complete without an abundance of connections and the Asteio D22 has them covered – HDMI (with HDCP encryption), Component (Y/Pb/Pr), DVI, D-Sub, SCART, S-Video and right down to Composite (if you’ve got no other choice!!)

All of this in a media centre that hits the noise scale at 26dB (thanks to Asus Tranquil Technology constantly monitoring temperature, optical drive noise and an advanced heat-pipe design) proving that powerful doesn’t have to mean noisy.
