In Plextor's interactive video game, Upgrade Adventure, players must survive earthquakes and search for tools as they help upgrade a notebook with an SSD for the chance to win a Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme SSD
Eindhoven, May 23, 2013 - Plextor, a leading developer of high-performance digital storage technology, announces the launch of Plextor Upgrade Adventure, an interactive video-based game and contest. The exciting game includes puzzles and hidden object elements as players compete to upgrade the notebook with a Plextor SSD to enter the prize draw. Visitors to the event website will also have an extra chance to win an SSD in a fun bonus activity on the site. The event runs to June 15.
The event not only demonstrates easy SSD installation, but celebrates the success of Plextor's SSDs as notebook upgrades. These include Plextor's new M5M mSATA SSD for ultra-thin notebooks which delivers full-size SSD features and performance in an extremely compact form. As well as the product featured in the game - the multi-award winning Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme - is a high-performance 2.5" SSD ultra-slim, which is 7mm for thin notebook installation.
Hosted on YouTube, the game makes extensive use of use the service's annotation function, to provide interactivity on desktop devices. Players complete an adventure which starts with the simple task of installing a Plextor SSD and goes on to become a fun hunt for hidden objects. Players who successfully complete the task are given the address of a secret page where they can enter a draw to win prizes, including a Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme SSD to upgrade their own system.
The game is available in English, Japanese, German, Traditional Chinese and Russian. This is the first time that a fully interactive YouTube video-based game has seen parallel development in so many languages.
