DrayTek launches the Vigor 2830 serious router, their new flagship premium router/firewall. Complementing DrayTek’s popular Vigor 2820 series the new range comes packed full of features with the comprehensive ADSL connectivity and security associated with DrayTek products.
The stand out features include Dual Band WiFi (‘n’ and ‘Vn’ version) , 4 x Gigabit Ethernet Lan ports with multiple private subnet options and the ability to use all three WAN ports simultaneously.
Network administrators will also appreciate the dual log in capability for user and administrator.
The Vigor 2830 series consists of three models; a standard model (Vigor 2830), the wireless ‘n’ model supporting switchable Dual Band wireless 802.11n (Vigor 2830n) and the fully featured model also offering VoIP allowing up to two analogue phones to optionally make VoiP calls (Vigor 2830Vn).
All models support up to three WAN ports; an ADSL2+, an Ethernet WAN and 3G via USB dongle all of which may be used simultaneously for load balancing and/or for line failure.
The VLAN feature allows for each of the four Ethernet LAN ports to be isolated from each other, for example to serve 4 different companies or departments. More sophisticated users may wish to use the 802.1q tagged VLAN feature whereby data is marked with the unique VLAN identifier to be onward read and directed by another Ethernet switch.
Add to this 32 dial-in/dial-out VPN, the comprehensive and robust firewall, web content filtering with Global View and extensive QoS settings the Vigor 2830 is a truly high end product for the most sophisticated business user.
