BORDEAUX, France - 14 February, 2013 - PNY Technologies, a leading manufacturer and supplier of upgrade, graphics and storage solutions, today launched its ThinkSafeTM range of security products designed for all brands of laptop, MacBook and Ultrabook.
Laptop theft in the workplace and public areas has become increasingly common, with thieves targeting high-end Ultrabooks and MacBooks in particular. The ThinkSafeTM product line has been developed by PNY to fight against this problem and allow any laptop to be quickly and efficiently secured by their owners.
The ThinkSafeTM range takes advantage of PNY's patented system comprised of steel strips inserted into the hinge of a laptop. ThinkSafeTM is also the only securing system on the market compatible with the entire Apple MacBook range.
The ThinkSafeTM range is made up of 3 products: a universal lock that can be used for all laptop computers, a lock made specifically for MacBooks and a clamp for securing a computer to a surface when there is no fixed point available for the cable.
ThinkSafeTM Universal
PNY's universal ThinkSafeTM lock is made up of the following components:
- A 4-digit combination lock, connected to a 1.8m steel cable, which must be secured to a fixed point (table leg, etc.)
- Four steel components enabling a laptop to be attached to the lock (three Hinge-LinksTM in varying sizes to be adapted to all laptop models and inserted into the hinge of the computer and one Slot-LinkTM, which is inserted into a locking system found in numerous laptops)
- A travel case
The set can be assembled and taken apart quickly and easily. Furthermore, for those who are prone to forgetting codes, PNY has developed a log-in page on its site (www.PNY.com/ThinkSafe) allowing secure storage and access to the code.
ThinkSafeTM for MacBook
A strikingly simple patented locking solution, the ThinkSafeTM Portable Laptop Locking System for Macs is comprised of two Hinge-LinkTM strips, perfectly adapted to all of the brand's models, ensuring the security of Apple MacBook Airs, MacBook Pros and even iMacs (using a security slot).
ThinkSafeTM Portable Security Clamp
For those who do not have a fixed point everywhere they go, PNY proposes the ThinkSafeTM Portable Security Clamp, through which you can wrap the connected cable. Light, compact, with a patented design, and easily transportable, the clamp can be attached in a few seconds to any kind of desk without tools. Made entirely from aluminium, it is compatible with the majority of cable locking solutions on the market.
