TSMC’s Dr Morris Chang Returns as
Keynote Speaker at VTF Taipei 2002


Dr Chang to head up a prominent array of key
industry figures addressing the VIA Technology Forum 2002


Taipei, Taiwan, 10 September
2002 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip
technologies and PC platform solutions, today confirmed that Dr Morris Chang,
founding Chairman of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, will give a
keynote address at the upcoming VIA Technology Forum 2002 in Taipei.


Pioneer of the dedicated
silicon integrated circuit foundry, Morris Chang is widely acclaimed as one of
the key architects of Taiwan’s dominance in the high-tech world, and has had
numerous honorary degrees and awards bestowed upon him in recognition of his
outstanding contribution to the microelectronics industry.

Dr Chang will open the keynote
session on the second morning of VTF Taipei 2002, in the Plenary Hall of the
Taiwan International Convention Centre at 9am on Wednesday 9th
October 2002. His keynote will be followed by addresses from other Diamond
Sponsors and a panel discussion on ‘Taiwan in the Internet Age’, chaired by Mr
Hung-Tze Jan,
CEO of PC Home and Cite Publishing.
