Mobile AMD Athlon(tm) XP processors power notebooks from
Fujitsu Siemens Computers

-New Amilo A series of laptops to deliver world-class
AMD technology-

MUNICH, GERMANY-SEPTEMBER 19, 2002-AMD (NYSE: AMD) today
announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) has chosen AMD mobile processors
to power its new AMILO A Series of consumer notebook computers. Featuring the
mobile AMD Athlon(tm) XP processors 1400+, 1600+ and 1800+, the AMILO A Series
provides a powerful mobile solution for consumers who demand high performance
and reliability and who can no longer be bound to the confines of a desktop
system. "Fujitsu Siemens Computers' choice to use the mobile AMD Athlon XP
processor in its new line of laptops is a strategic win for AMD, adding to AMD's
momentum in the mobile sector," said Jochen Polster, sales director and general
manager, AMD Central and Eastern Europe. "We look forward to building upon our
mutually beneficial relationship with Fujitsu Siemens Computers to better serve
our customers."

"Launching our first mobile AMD Athlon XP
processor-based notebook is a key milestone in our strategic relationship with
AMD," said Peter Esser, executive vice president, Volume Products, Fujitsu
Siemens Computers. "With the mobile AMD Athlon XP processors, the AMILO A Series
will provide our customers with a powerful platform designed to deliver
exceptional performance for a wide range of applications, and equally important,
an extended battery life."

The AMILO A Series features the AMD PowerNow!(tm)
technology, which is designed to minimize processor power consumption and
maximize battery life. Enabling notebooks to run cooler and more quietly, AMD
PowerNow! technology helps provide an optimal mobile computing experience. In
the past, increased processor performance has often meant increased power
consumption and shorter battery life. AMD PowerNow! technology is an innovative
solution available on AMD processor-based notebooks that can significantly
increase battery life, while delivering performance on demand, for the ultimate
notebook computing experience. AMD PowerNow! technology is the most dynamic
power management solution. The AMILO A Series is further enhanced by the ATI
RADEON IGP 320M graphics chipset, which offers high-performance 3D graphics and
support for enhanced multimedia applications, including DVD playback.

Availability

The new AMILO A 6600/7600 series is planned to be
available from Fujitsu Siemens Computers immediately.
