2001-Matrox Graphics Inc. today announced
support for the new AMD Athlon(tm)
XP processor 1800+ with
QuantiSpeed(tm) architecture. Offering the latest in
processor
technology, the AMD Athlon XP processor 1800+ is designed to
provide
extreme performance for end users running Microsoft's newest
operating
system, Windows® XP, balancing improvements in the amount of work
done
per clock cycle with increases in the processor frequency.
Continuing
its commitment to provide the industry standard x86 platform,
AMD has
partnered with the industry's leading hardware and software
companies, to
conduct rigorous validation testing, ensuring
comprehensive compatibility and
seamless integration of AMD's innovative

The AMD Athlon(tm) XP processor features QuantiSpeed(tm)

Athlon XP processor is compatible with AMD's Socket A infrastructure
and
supports the advanced 266MHz front-side bus.  AMD Athlon XP
processors
are manufactured using AMD's 0.18-micron copper process technology

Fab 30 in Dresden, Germany.

Launched in 1999, DualHead technology supported eight different
