It's easy to be swayed by confident and well-delivered rhetoric on any subject. That's why I specifically asked to talk not only to the marketing guys that drive FSP's product strategy and delivery, but also to the engineers responsible for the technology core that FSP use in each supply.
And talking to FSP's Dr Liang and RD8 team-member Chang Hsuh saw them largely back up what Wayne and Jacky were keen to tell me about. FSP are gearing up to deliver products (Wayne and Jacky's areas of expertise) backed by R&D (Dr Liang and Chang) and the safety labs (Mike) to ensure that the finished product is one you'll be interested in - and safe.
I've personalised things because I've concluded, after the best part of a week in their company, that FSP's earlier message seems to be true - it does invest in people first and foremost.
So, look out for a renewed push into the retail PC market, especially with products for the enthusiast, later in the year. We look forward to seeing if they can deliver on the promise.
My thanks again to FSP, including Yi, Ann, Heidi, Wayne, Jacky, Frank and Chang -- and also the just-left Grace -- for their help in letting me take a closer look at the tech and marketing of a company that's intrigued me since I went to visit last year for our big PSU-testing fest.
