Dell's new high-end gaming desktop offers superior performance with less power consumption

Bracknell, UK, August, 2006 – Gamers in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) can now run the most intensive games and 3D applications with the availability of the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo and Extreme processors on the Dell XPS™ 700 desktop PC. The new processors have up to 40 percent greater performance than the current Pentium® D processors but use 40 percent less power1. The XPS 700 with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo is available now to order, priced from £1099 including VAT and delivery.

With the ability to share its cache between two independent cores, the new Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors allocate power to the application that needs it the most. With this state-of-the-art processor technology, XPS 700 users will be able to run the most demanding applications. Tests that show the new XPS 700 can achieve up to 47 percent better gaming performance, 35 percent enhanced management of digital photos, videos and music and 30 percent better performance for productivity2 than previous systems based on Intel’s Pentium D class processors.

For serious gamers looking to outsmart their opponent, the XPS 700 desktop offers outstanding performance with bold looks. With options for advanced NVIDIA® graphics, AGEIA® physics accelerators and high-end Sound Blaster® X-Fi audio card, the XPS 700 is the ideal high-end gaming system and home entertainment hub.
