Taipei, Taiwan, 27 July 2004 – ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), the worldwide leader of motherboards, today introduced the NCCH-DL, the only motherboard in the world that is based on the Intel 875P chipset yet supports a dual-Xeon (Nocona core) architecture. The NCCH-DL features the latest industry specifications to provide a workstation-level solution at an affordable price.

The NCCH-DL recently won the “Best Choice of Computex Taipei 2004”. Organized by Taiwan External Trade Council, “Best Choice of Computex” is the measuring stick of high-quality information technology products. ASUS, the perennial winner of this prestigious honor, has proven time and again that its solutions and innovations are the best in the business.

The NCCH-DL is an innovative solution that unlocked the true potential of the Intel 875P chipset. Through superior engineering expertise, the NCCH-DL, based on the 875P chipset, supports a dual-Xeon (including the next-generation Nocona) architecture to deliver both workstation performance and affordability. The NCCH-DL offers 800MHz FSB and 1MB L2 cache, greatly enhancing the performance of dual-processor platforms. Combined with dual-channel DDR 400 support, the ASUS motherboard is ready for the most demanding applications.

The all-new motherboard adopted Gigabit LAN and IEEE 1394 technologies for high-speed network connection and fast data transfer between peripherals. It also protects important data with Serial ATA RAID, which enables RAID 0, 1 and 0+1 functions, and provides six Serial ATA ports to deliver superior storage scalability.

Stability, efficiency, cost and convenience are critical in determining a quality server. And a reliable tool for system monitoring is essential to ensure the four criteria mentioned are indeed included in the server system. ASWM 2.0 (ASUS System Web-based Management) allows MIS engineers to conveniently and remotely monitor, manage and upgrade server systems. Traditional solutions for system management and maintenance are time consuming and inefficient. When a system malfunctions, MIS engineers have to first understand the server they are dealing with, open up the server and determine whether the problem is at hardware or software levels. ASWM eliminated all the hassle mentioned. With a few clicks on the mouse, status of the system is presented in seconds, even from a remote location.
