LEADING CAR MANUFACTURER SELECTS DELL AS PRIMARY WORLDWIDE SUPPLIER OF DESKTOPS AND NOTEBOOKS

Bracknell, UK, May 16, 2003 - DellTM today announced that it has signed a contract with the BMW Group to supply 13,000 Dell OptiPlexTM desktop PCs and 4,000 Dell LatitudeTM notebooks. The global deal worth US$16.6 million (over 14 million Euros) will see the hardware installed in the leading car manufacturer's offices worldwide by the end of 2003. As part of the deal, Dell will also provide the BMW Group with services such as Customer Factory Installation (CFI), a pre-installation service that configures Dell systems to meet customer needs and requirements. Staff will be able to use the tailor-made, ISO901-certified computer systems instantly, without the need for further adaptation. "The BMW Group, like Dell, represents quality and reliability, and we are delighted to be expanding our business with them," says Paul Bell, President, Dell EMEA. "Their decision to deploy Dell systems worldwide once again highlights Dell's position as a preferred partner for high-quality enterprise computing solutions."
