Bracknell, UK, May 16, 2003 - DellTM today announced that it has signed a contract with the BMW Group to supply 13,000 Dell OptiPlexTM desktop PCs and 4,000 Dell LatitudeTM notebooks. The global deal worth US$16.6 million (over 14 million Euros) will see the hardware installed in the leading car manufacturer's offices worldwide by the end of 2003. As part of the deal, Dell will also provide the BMW Group with services such as Customer Factory Installation (CFI), a pre-installation service that configures Dell systems to meet customer needs and requirements. Staff will be able to use the tailor-made, ISO901-certified computer systems instantly, without the need for further adaptation.
