Introduces A7N266 Series NVIDIA® nForce™ based Socket A Motherboards

ASUS, today announced the release of the A7N266 Series NVIDIA nForce-based
motherboard for socket A processors. The A7N266 Series is the premier
motherboard offering complete integrated features without sacrificing
performance. Built upon the advanced nForce chipset architecture, the A7N266
Series features powerful GeForce2 level 3D graphics, 5.1 audio and integrated
LAN for an all-in-one solution with exceptional performance and value. Available
models include A7N266-E with Dolby™ 5.1 audio and the A7N266 with onboard
C-media 6-channel audio.
The A7N266 Series maximizes the revolutionary nForce chipset to provide superior
system performance. It features a 128-bit TwinBank™ DDR Memory Architecture
for efficient memory processing , Dynamic Adaptive Speculative Pre-processor (DASP)
to boost CPU performance, and HyperTransport™ for improved I/O bus
performance. Whether you’re gaming, working, or entertaining, the A7N266
Series simply does it faster.

A7N266-E features powerful leading-edge audio. Thanks to the NVIDIA MCP-D APU
(audio processing unit) and an ASUS 6-channel ACR audio module, users
can experience incredible Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and S/PDIF-out
connectivity to highest-quality speaker systems. The A7N266-E features an
onboard Dolby Digital 5.1encoder and offers an onboard theatre-quality sound
experience, with superior performance to most external sound cards. Supporting
DirectX 8.0, the A7N266-E also brings new levels of realism to the latest games

Also
available is the A7N266 which adopts the same advanced architecture as the
A7N266-E, with the exception of the audio. Offering users a more cost-effective
nForce solution, the A7N266 leverages the technology of C-media 8738 6-channel
hardware audio, while delivering the same graphics and system performance of the
A7N266-E. The A7N266 also features SPDIF-in/out which is suitable for home audio
production.
The A7N266
Series also features a valuable software package for gamers with 3D games
including Interplay’s Star Trek New Worlds and Messiah. Other utilities
included are Trend Micro’s PC-cillin 2000 anti-virus software with Windows®
