Hubs and spec

The tablet features a number of ‘hubs' to organise content. The ‘readers hub' consolidates different reading apps such as eBooks and various magazines and newspapers. The hub is powered by Kobo, PressDisplay and Zinio, with over 2 million books including 1.8m freebies, 2,500 magazines and 1,600 newspapers available from launch.

Meanwhile, the ‘social hub' contains Samsung's phonebook, social networking accounts, IM services and calendar details on one platform, and as previously reported, the Galaxy Tab's ‘music hub' is powered by 7digital, going head-to-head with Apple's iTunes. Being an Android tablet, it is also packed with Google Mobile services including Google Maps and Google Goggles.

Simon Stanford, MD of Mobile at Samsung UK and Ireland said: "We wanted great content to be available at launch to really show what the Tab can do and give consumers simple access to everything they want. We're delighted to be working with leading brands in their respective fields such as The FT, WHSmith and Gameloft, to enhance the Galaxy Tab user experience."

What's this ridiculous Full HD video playback on a device with a screen not even capable of 1280x720, and no obvious HDMI-out?
And the fact they are Ā£500 apparently.
My moneys going towards the Archos 101 tbh…
