Bada idea?

Samsung has unveiled a new member of its Bada family, the Wave 578 at MWC.

The handset boasts NFC connectivity, user friendly design and runs Samsung's own smartphone platform.

In terms of connectivity, the handset is relatively fast with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and USB 2.0, for fast data rates and easy information sharing, said Samsung, while the NFC technology will let users use services like mobile payment in shops, buying rail fares, reading tags and using coupons.

In addition to its ergonomic design, the Wave 578 features QuickType by t9 Trace, which the company said is two to three times faster than standard typing and supports more than 75 languages, delivering an easy and efficient typing experience while reducing input error. The handset also has multitouch functionality.

The phone's ‘rich communication suite' lets users shear content whist chatting on the phone, send messages, social networking integration and post to different networks simultaneously, while push IM enables people to access messages anywhere. Wave 578 owners can get apps from Samsung Apps too.

The handset will be available from May across Europe. Here is an image of the Wave 578 and its spec.
