Samsung's latest iteration of its successful Galaxy phone has been spotted online for as much as £708.
The company's slim Galaxy S II handset was unveiled at MWC a couple of weeks back and is set to be powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a 1GHz dual-core processor and 4.2 inch AMOLED display. Camera-wise it will tout an 8MP rear-mounted camera with 1080p HD video recording capability.
T3 spotted the 32GB version of the unlocked handset on Clove's website for a massive £708, while the 16GB models will set consumers back £612.
It reported that Clove said: "As we all know, release dates are always subject to change but we've had word today that the first stock of the Samsung Galaxy S II i9100, both the 16GB & 32GB versions, will be landing mid to late March."
Perhaps supporting this time scale, the 16GB version of the Galaxy S II handset is available to pre-order via Play.com but costs a marginally cheaper £599.99 and is ‘due for release on 31 March 2011'. There is no sign of the 32GB version.
Meanwhile, showing just how variable these listings can be, Expansys has listed the 16GB handset for £629.99 with an arrival date of 20 June, while it said the 32GB handset is ‘unavailable'.
With dates varying from March to June, a Samsung spokesperson told T3: "At this stage we can confirm that the Galaxy S II will be available in the second quarter during May. We are unable to comment on price as this is set by the operators."
Of course many people will be waiting for contract prices to be announced for the new handset and might now be crossing their fingers for a March release.
