Oh dear lord, here goes another three months of my life!
Eidos have announced that Championship Manager 2008 will be released on PC in the run-up to Christmas 2007... giving you the perfect excuse to miss the Queen’s speech and avoid the argument over which Bond film to watch..score!Developed by Beautiful Game Studios, Championship Manager 2008 will come fully updated for the 2007/2008 football season and also has an all new look with new skins, menu shortcuts and an improved user interface which, say Eidos, will make it the most easily accessible title in the series to date.
Championship Manager 2008 will also have an improved match engine with more realism, analysing each player and making them react on pitch to the action depending on what their ‘real-life’ tendencies are as a footballer. For example, a player who likes to overlap and send crosses in from the by-line will try and do so as much as possible during a game. This new system creates a realistic simulation of how footballers behave in real life match situations and managers can even train individual squad members to incorporate tendencies into their match skill set.
Eidos say the match engine in 3D now shows players jostling for position with the opposition, sliding in for tackles as well as keepers diving for the ball, adding to the realistic depiction of the match on the pitch. And, following on from its debut appearance in Championship Manager 2007, ProZone is back as a fully integrated Post Match Analysis tool which isolates the key factors that decided the result of your game and provides you with the knowledge to act on the match incidents and strengthen your team for the next fixture.
But that’s not all. Championship Manager 2008 also features the Australian leagues and now with a new Multiplayer mode you can play with your friends and enjoy the game together on the same PC.
