Developer blogs kick-off
I don't often go around shouting about it, but last year was the first time that I defected from the side of the Pro Evolution Soccer camp and instead I've spent many an evening playing EA's FIFA 07. It still isn't the perfect football game and I'd agree with many to the fact that on the pitch Pro Evo is still the purest football experience, but with FIFA last year, it was the overall package that made me switch sides. In FIFA 07 there was a drastic improvement to the gameplay - thanks partly to the new game engine - excellent presentation, real-world licences, up-to-the-minute real-world game result, radio casts and a robust multiplayer experience.Like many, I've been looking forward intently to the next battle between the FIFA and Pro Evo series and GamesRadar has confirmed that they will be hosting the official EA blogs that will detail all the new features on their latest effort:
Check out this snippet from the first of those blogs and be sure to keep an eye on the schedule shown below for the updates:
We have concentrated our efforts on things like the context and depth in AI and the sense of the player brain working to a much higher fidelity than it has ever done before with each CPU brain making thousands of evaluations and choices per second.
Another element of this year's game is the idea of expression. We have created a feature that enables gamers to create pro skill moves through an organic building block system so you can express yourself in a way you have never been able to do before in a football game. To us it is not just about re-producing what Ronaldinho does in the real-world. We have broken down this process into a number of building blocks and then you have the power to re-produce Ronaldinho's signature moves.
