Anyone who has bought a copy Battlefield: Bad Company 2 from the digital download site, Steam, will now be able to enjoy the game DRM free.

The SecuRom security system has played havoc with multiplayer since the game launched a couple of weeks ago, with users reporting connection problems and some gamers not even being able to install the game.

The latest patch removes SecuRom and also adds some technical and graphical improvements.

The patch is specific to those that purchased Bad Company 2 via Steam.

What if I'm having endless connection problems but I bought it on a disc. Does that mean I'm getting boned up the arse? Just like I did when I bought MW2.
Maybe if you get the patches for your disk version it'll also remove secuRom?
It won't remove SecuROM, that will still be hidden on your machine.

What it will do is remove this game from the SecuROM system, however, if it's anything like the new C&C game, an internet connection is still required even for single player games (ala Ubisoft).
Nice find, about time!!

FonZy = Laterrrrrr….
got to love my developers copy :)

no DRM :D
