Plotline leaked

Finally, French website NoFrag has substantial details on the plotline, including complete summaries of levels and walkthroughs. For example:

Death Valley Monster Truck Race

Level Summary
Responding to orders Duke heads to Hoover Dam in an EDF Drop Ship to investigate a wormhole in the sky which is believed to be a portal from the Alien world. The Dam top is overrun with Alien forces so Duke is dropped off nearby and must drive his monster truck with a mounted missile launcher to make his way to the to the Dam.

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.,currently owns the publishing rights to DNF, so it may invest in completing the game, especially considering the renewed interest at the moment. Apogee Software, developer of the handheld Duke Nukem Trilogy, has confirmed that its game won't be affected by the news about 3D Realms closure.

After seeing some of these details and screenshots, somebody's surely gonna pick up the pieces and get Duke Nukem back on track?

I doubt it will disappear as purely on the Duke Nukem name alone they know they will get the sales from it. Someone will snap it up or will be given the rights to franchise and I guess it will be another few years of news and non deliveries xD

This game could either be the biggest joke in the world or a curse for whoever takes it on. I would place my bets on it being released sometime when the only blue moon appears :D
All the stuff that has been released so far shows it was shaping up to be a pretty decent game. Wasnt going to set the world on fire but wasnt going to be a daikatana at least.

You`d hope someone would pay to get this finished and released after all it does seem like there wasnt much more to do.

How can you possibly judge that on what's been released so far?

Again I don't see that being the case at all - have you seen any videos of the bugs that will be present in the build?

The same thing happens to games in other forums - a few screenshots and videos get released and everyone assumes the game is 99% complete and should be released tommorow.. then when it's released after 6 months of further work they all complain that it should never have been released in such an ‘unfinished’ state  :p

Same happened to STALKER. Best game of the year when that came out and I played it so many times I knew the whole game world inside and out but what they were trying to do and what they ended up cutting in the end was a shame :(
The gameplay video shows the characters in an unfished level and then in the proper background and the movement looks slick. The bosses look huge as you`d expect and the pigs movements look a lot better and more realistic(if you can get that from pig/humans :D

Maybe there is a lot left to do but it would be a shame for such a long running game development to end like that.

I remember playing the original duke for 12 hours solid using a serial cable and it was loads of fun. The video looks like it would have been fun and the screens show a lot of imagination gone into the bad guys and weapons.

Thats my opinion though. I really hope someone picks it up as it would be a shame for duke to die like this
