PlayStation Suite, Sony’s upcoming software framework that will be used to provide downloadable PlayStation content for devices that meet PlayStation Certified requirements, will be available in Spring 2012.

Speaking at a press conference at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony confirmed that a public SDK would be made available in November and games will be downloadable across a variety of Android-based devices, including PS Vita, in the Spring.

Currently, PlayStation-certified devices include Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play, and Sony's Tablet S and Tablet P, but the company says that additional hardware will be certified in due course.

Sony says that the PlayStation Suite means good news for developers. “By supporting development for multiple devices and by adopting libraries to create a variety of content not only limited to games, PS Suite SDK will not only help developers save their cost in creating new content but also allow them to efficiently create their content on one SDK and without having to create on several different SDKs," reads the official statement.
