With E3 approaching next month, there's plenty of speculation doing the rounds about what announcements the three big console makers will make.

From the Microsoft camp there's rumours of an Xbox 360 price-cut and a deluge of new first party titles ready to be announced, including Lips, a new Karaoke game to rival Singstar on PS3. Meanwhile, it's believed that Sony also has some AAA first party title announcements to make, as well as unveiling a new motion-sensing controller similar to that used with Wii. Nintendo news on the other hand has been pretty quiet, until now.

Nintendo’s Marc Franklin has confirmed that as well as announcing several new titles that will appeal to core gamers, it will also announce a 'gamer's game'. What exactly this means we have no idea, but knowing Nintendo we should expect the unexpected.

Indeed Nintendo President Fils-Aime whet our appetite back in March when he said:

There's gonna be a big game for the holiday that the gamers will want. All I can tell you is what we announce during E3 is gonna be fantastic. The gamer is gonna be excited and the expanded audience is gonna be excited.

E3 kicks off with press conferences on the 15 July,2008 when we can expect to hear some significant announcements from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony.
