Gamers from 16 Countries Prepare for Battle

In February of 2006, a revolution was announced. It was a revolution that would bring gamers to the forefront, giving them a stage from which to display their skills to the world. The KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution brought gamers from 16 countries to one final battle that would take place in Beijing, China. On that faithful day in September, six gamers emerged victorious, besting their adversaries, and proving to the world their claim as the world’s best gamers. As the dust settled, KODE5 returned to the underground; waiting for the time to call the revolution to the forefront once again. To many, it seemed that the revolution had been silenced.

How wrong they were.

Over the past several months, KODE5 operatives have been working relentlessly to plan the next stage of competitive gaming’s next appearance in the world spotlight. Today, KODE5 is pleased to announce the start of its 2007 season, and a new line up of world-class supporters. Today, gamers from 16 countries around the world will begin preparations for a new season of challenges towards the title of KODE5 2007 Global Champion. Gamers will have to first earn their spot in the finals at a regional KODE5 event. From there, KODE5 will fly the winners from each event to a yet undisclosed location to the KODE5 Global Finals – an epic gaming event featuring the very best gaming has to offer. With international media in attendance, television crews broadcasting around the world and fans from all over cheering their favorites on, KODE5 will once again bring competitive gaming to a mainstream audience.

“Season two of KODE5 is looking to top even last year’s tournament,” notes Lester Lau, KODE5 Revolutionary-in-Command. “With new events, new supports, and a new secret location for the KODE5 Global Finals, the entire KODE5 team is anxious to bring our new series of events to gamers worldwide.”

To bring this vision to fruition, KODE5 requires assistance from supporters – companies who seek to aid the development of competitive gaming and show their support for the gaming community. This year, Cooler Master, GIGABYTE, and Corsair Memory have all stepped forward, announcing global support for the KODE5 Revolution. Cooler Master, GIGABYTE and Corsair Memory will all help to develop a standard KODE5 gaming platform that will be used at KODE5 events, ensuring the very best gaming experience and an even playing field for all participants.

“Cooler Master is excited to arm the KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution along with GIGABYTE and Corsair Memory,” said Coco Lee, Cooler Master Brand Manager. “Gamers joining the KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution are Battle Masters, and Cooler Master will stand beside all Battle Masters to take on the world!”

“Revolutionaries need reliable, high-performance equipment, and there is no more hard-core brand in PC gaming than GIGABYTE,” commented Veronica Li, Marketing Manager at GIGABYTE. “We’re looking forward to an exciting and enjoyable KODE5 challenge with our fellow sponsors and the Revolutionary Council.”

“Our focus has always been on supporting the special demands of gamers and joining KODE5 for a second year helps us do that,” said Jevon Yeh, Corsair APAC Marketing Manager. “It is an honor to work with like-minded leaders like GIGABYTE and Cooler Master. Good luck to the new generation of warriors at KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution. To those joining the revolution, Corsair supports you!”

KODE5 is bringing competitive gaming to the masses in a number of ways. The first method is to give the gaming the community a voice though a group known as the KODE5 Revolutionary Council – an advisory board made up of gamers, gaming team managers, event organizers, and gaming media. The KODE5 Revolutionary Council will help determine the rules and regulations of KODE5 gaming events, ensuring a fair tournament for gamers around the world. The result will be a global gaming event designed by gamers themselves. The second method is by making all KODE5 events both open and international. There’s no need to wait for an invitation to attend KODE5. KODE5’s regional events are open to anyone and everyone, regardless of affiliation, nationality, or skill level. Anyone who would like to experience the thrill of gaming on a competitive level is welcome to attend. By keeping events open to all, KODE5 will bring gaming the attention and respect it deserves.

Over the next few weeks, more details on this exciting event, including schedule, games, and prizes, will be revealed at: www.kode5.com.
