Sound quality, rating and HEXUS.right2reply

Teufel's first-ever 2.0 PC speaker solution targets the PC user wanting Hi-Fi quality sound at their desk.

With that in mind, the Concept B 200 USB is a success. We've never heard a set of 2.0 PC speakers that sound this good. In use, listeners can close their eyes and forget they're sat in front of their desktop PC - it almost feels like you're resting in view of two bigger floor-standing stereo speakers. The sound on offer really is that impressive.

Offering stunning clarity, the Concept B 200 USB will treat PC users to detail they may never have known existed. Listening to the Piano melodies of Ludovico Einaudi's Divenire is a treat, with each note produced firmly and precisely. Changing tune, The Rolling Stones' Almost Hear You Sigh comes across as sumptuous, with a swathe of warm bass, clear voice and accurate highs that aren't too sharp.

Trouble is, at £178, you could probably pick up an amp and a set of high-end stereo speakers from your local A/V specialist. Chances are, you'll find a set that's better looking than the Teufel, too.

Then again, there's a good chance you won't get a dedicated USB sound card that negates the electronic noise created by your PC, or an integrated USB hub. If you're after a 2.0 PC solution that offers truly excellent sound, you're very, very unlikely to be disappointed by Teufel's Concept B 200 USB.

Such is the company's confidence in its products, the Concept B 200 USB comes backed by a 12-year warranty, and dissatisfied listeners can always fall back on Teufel's eight-week return policy. You don't get much fairer than that.

THE speakers to have on a PC, IMO. Love that they bypass the horrible (at least on my MoBo) integrated audio. Of course, if you don't have a dedicated sound card. And I even like how everything looks clean - pity about the price, though.
I don't see this being a massive success tbh… just look at the price. Also I'm guessing most people who would consider spending this much on PC speakers would have an old amp & speakers lying around and, after seeing this, would just get the inspiration/urge to connect them up for a spin. (As I have :D)

True, although that's not a direct comparison - you'd still need a USB soundcard or some other form of DAC to get the same effect. And considering that a good DAC could easily set you back over £100 this set up doesn't look quite so steep after all.

Still wouldn't spend that much on PC sound personally, but just to be objective…
Or just get a different soundcard for £30-40. It maybe wont be quite as high quality as a proper DAC but the differences between it and a substandard onboard sound device will do enough to make a difference. Im still using the Auzentech i bought like 3 years ago although it doesnt do any DAC as it passes optical to my amp.
I've just ordered a set!

Hopefully they will be better than my Aego M's
