It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
It seems as if the folks down at Intel have hit the egg-nog a little too hard this year. Yes, the merry chip manufacturer has decided to release an HD video of the Intel Choir singing its own, rather unique rendition of the popular Twelve Days of Christmas ditty.
Most of the numbers don't really relate to anything coherent, but Intel's rather loose interpretation of the classic tune goes something like this:
"12 movies streaming, Core i7 laptops, 10 classmate PCs, nine Intel readers, eight USB ports, seven Xeon servers, six more WiMax cities, five golden wafers, 4G, three solid state drives, two Atom net-books...and the fastest processor in the world."
AMD doesn't seem to have a version of the 12 days of Christmas, but if the firm did, we imagine it might include something along the lines of "on the twelfth day of Christmas Intel gave to me: a cross licensing agreement and a rather hefty settlement fee."
Likewise NVIDIA would probably be delighted to sing songs about how Santa will not be bringing Larrabee down the chimney this Christmas (or next for that matter). Indeed, NVIDIA's Tegra may be just the Grinch to spoil Intel's holiday cheer, as MIDs weren't even mentioned once in Intel's little ditty.
Then again, with Intel holding approximately 80 per cent of the processor market, the firm really does have a lot to sing about.
