Kristen Kreuk to star as Chun-Li, short skirts guaranteed?
2009 will mark the 20th anniversary of Capcom's Street Fighter franchise and what better way to celebrate than a live-action movie?
Well, we can think of a better way, a new Street Fighter game. Don't worry though, Capcom has all bases covered and the game, Street Fighter IV, will make its debut on arcades in Japan next year, before a global release on multiple platforms.
But anyhow, this new movie, what do we make of it? Following 1994's Street Fighter, which literally re-defined the term 'turkey', we have to look upon this 2009 outing with plenty of scepticism.
According to Capcom, Street Fighter (which we assume is the working title) will tell the tale of Chun-Li, played by Kristen Kreuk.
Kreuk, pictured above, will be joined by Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, Neal McDonough as M. Bison, Chris Klein as Charlie Nash and last but not least, Black Eyed Pea, Taboo, as Vega.
The film will be made in conjunction with Hyde Park Films and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.
1994's Street Fighter was a big contender for the biggest turkey of the last decade, could this be the biggest turkey of this decade? Only time will tell but we're willing to place some bets already.
