Samsung debuts Android MP3 player

Meanwhile, Samsung has also rolled out two other MP3 players in addition to its previously released Tic Toc device.

Samsung's Q3 player comes in two aluminium colour combo flavours and with a task manager so users can switch between one screen and the next to easily move from music to watching a video. It is available in 4GB and 8GB variants and costs upwards of £59 RRP.

Its smaller player, the U6 has a metallic design in either black or bright pink with a built-in ‘slide and hide' USB connector. It comes in 2GB and 4GB sizes and costs from £39RRP.

Coolbeans. Looks like a good plan. Though it'd have to be a little special to make me, as an Android owner, shell out for one over an iTouch - it's nice to have a little variety, especially with apps, and there's quite a few useful apps on either OS that aren't on the other. If I had an iPhone though, I'd be very tempted by this when it comes out.
Powered by Android 2.1, it offers access to the Android Market.
I wonder how they managed to persuade Google to let them do this on a non-phone device?

I thought that was the whole reason the Galaxy Tab has voice call capability, so Google would see it as just a very large phone.
