PRESS RELEASE
London, 12th February 2018 – Netatmo, a revolutionary smart home company developing groundbreaking, intuitive and beautifully-designed connected consumer electronics, announces today the compatibility of four of its products with Apple’s HomePod. Starting today, Netatmo’s Smart Thermostat, Smart Radiator Valves, its outdoor security camera Presence and Healthy Home Coach are now compatible with Apple’s breakthrough wireless speaker. This new integration demonstrates the company’s continuous support of voice control and their desire to provide intuitive and customisable smart home experiences.
Through HomeKit, Apple lets innovative companies integrate with HomePod. With an array of six microphones, HomePod can hear “Hey Siri” from across the room, letting users control home accessories or set scenes through voice.
With HomePod, users can simply give Siri various commands in order to control their home. Just using their voice, owners of Netatmo’s compatible products can control their heating, their outdoor camera and learn about their indoor air quality.
“Hey Siri…
…turn up the temperature to 20°C in the living room”
The Netatmo Smart Thermostat and Smart Radiator Valves allow owners to use on average 37% less energy to heat their homes without compromising their comfort[1][2]. Owners of the Thermostat and Valves can control their heating by voice by asking, “Hey Siri, set my temperature to 20 degrees in the living room”.
…switch on the floodlight”
Presence, the outdoor security camera, distinguishes between people, cars and animals. It analyses in real-time if someone loiters around the home, if a car enters the driveway or if a pet is in the garden. Owners can say, “Hey Siri, show me the driveway” to get quick updates about the outside of their home.
…what is the humidity level in the bedroom?”
Healthy Home Coach, the smart indoor climate monitor, measures air quality, humidity, temperature, and noise in the house. It analyses each of these elements and sends recommendations to the user’s smartphone on how to improve air quality. Healthy Home Coach users can now also use HomePod to know more about their humidity by asking, “Hey Siri, what is the humidity level in the bedroom?”.
