Amsterdam, 23 May 2016 – TP Vision will continue to expand its impressive Smart TV video streaming options via a new partnership with Rakuten and its Wuaki.tv service with the company’s Android Smart TV app debuting first on Philips Android TVs.
TP Vision is continually developing its powerful Android TV platform in 2016 and has already announced or implemented a number of new partners for both video streaming and dedicated online games - with the majority of new services also being compatible and available on older Philips Android TVs.
Wuaki.tv, is a leading streaming service offering an extensive choice of subscription based, rental or outright purchase (market dependent) popular movies and TV shows from many Hollywood Studios – including latest releases – plus local content from the most relevant independent distributors.
The new Android app presents a new user interface that is directly aligned with Android TV usability features, offering a very smooth navigation while searching and viewing content that creates a consistent and intuitive experience.
The app makes best use of the possibilities presented by the Philips Android TV platform. For example, the users with TVs that support voice input are able to search for their favourite content just by tapping on the built-in microphone of the remote control and saying it by name or title.
