- Philips TVs powered by AndroidTM are Europe's first TVs supporting OnLive's cloud gaming service
- Philips TVs powered by Android provide access to the huge OnLive library of console-quality games
- Ambilight gaming mode delivers an incredible gaming experience
Amsterdam, August 28th, 2014 - TP Vision announces the integration of OnLive's cloud gaming service into Philips TVs powered by Android. It allows console-class video games to be played on the largest screen in the house without the need for a console. The OnLive Game Service will be available on Philips TVs powered by Android in the course of 2014 in Europe*.
Access to hundreds of games without console
The integration of the OnLive ‘instant access' gaming platform into Philips TVs powered by Android enables players to stream and play the latest big-name games from the OnLive Game Service by simply connecting a game controller to the TV. The growing OnLive library spans all kind of games from blockbusters and franchises to family-friendly sports, racing and action-adventure games.
OnLive allows games to be played on various devices
Unique to OnLive, a Philips TV owner can play alone or compete with friends playing remotely on other devices such as PC, Mac or Android tablet. Users can start playing a game on one device, for example a Philips TV, and then continue on their Android tablet after they have left their home. Cloud saves are synced automatically across devices, so players can always pick up right where they left off in a game, no matter where they are.
A large choice of Philips TVs powered by Android
OnLive runs on all Philips TVs powered by Android. A wide range of TVs allows consumers to pick a set that meets their needs exactly.
Ambilight provides a more immersive gaming experience
All Philips TVs powered by Android feature Ambilight, an LED lighting technology, which is unique to Philips TVs. It throws a glow of light - it matches the colours on the screen - onto the wall behind the TV. The gaming mode enables Ambilight to quickly follow the fast moving scenes of action and sports games delivering an absolutely immersive gaming experience.
Philips TVs support a wide range of game controllers
OnLive games available on Philips TV can be played with a game controller. Philips TVs powered by Android support a large variety of game controllers based on XInput, which can be used to play the OnLive games.
* The OnLive Game Service will be available in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, The Netherlands and Ireland in Q4 2014. Rollouts to additional countries in Europe will continue in 2015 following the OnLive rollout plans.
